On October 3rd, 2008, the Franciscans of Western
Canada, properly known as Christ the King Province, celebrated their
100th anniversary in western Canada with a gala dinner at
the Northlands Agricom in Edmonton, Alberta. The event arrived
after months of preparations by the Centennial Gala Steering
Committee, led by Teresa Haykowsky and Tim Spellicey, as well as by
many others who assisted behind the scenes to raise money from
sponsors and to promote and sell tickets for the one time only
event.
